Default [7230] Start a call immediately from a marked contact

Please Login to Remove!

When I found a contact in the addressbook, it is marked.
I takes several steps to start a call.

Is there any shortcut to start a call in one single step?
(I count each action as a step, even scrolling.)

You should be able to highlight the contact by rolling the scroll wheel over it, and then simply pushing the green "send" phone button.

There's no green "send" button on the 7230, unfortunately.

And: In the case I talk about, the contact is highlighted yet. By the search.
That is the starting point: the highlighted contact.

I just search for an effizient "single step way" to perform a call.

Ah, that's right. It's the trackwheel. I guess you have to press the wheel when the contact is highlighted and choose "call contact".

That is the standard way, I wanted to get rid of.
I don't like to choose anything of a list.

But it seems RIM "forgot" to implement a single step way for one of the most frequently used tasks at all. :(

Those older devices were still primarily email machines, but with a phone thrown in. It wasn't integrated like modern devices. Recall that just a year or two before, BlackBerrys didn't have a phone in them at all. BlackBerry hadn't forgotten the phone features, they just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Because nobody is developing for these legacy devices anymore you're stuck using them "as is". That's part of the charm of nostalgia - doing it the old way.

Thanks for your comment/rating. I will have to accept the way of starting a call.

My hope was, that a workaround/hack/application/configuration exists to get a single step way for the task.
Bad luck.
