I'm on Verizon, using an 8703e. Other than the new checkbox in the online setup, I'm not seeing any difference at all. Gmail isn't syncing deleted items and the option for receipts does not appear in Email settings.

I've resent the service books but haven't pulled the battery. Maybe it takes a while to catch up?

I am still not getting email as of 9:12 EST. I'm on Verizon. I have resent the service books twice. Only email on BIS is down (I can still get email sent to my carrier.blackberry.net address) I just pulled the battery I am hoping that helps. I haven't had working Blackberry email since yesterday.

[UPDATE]
Ok, now my email is back to normal. I am not seeing any new features though. Email delete using the web client remains on the Blackberry. Boxes are checked on the BIS page. Email reconciliation is set to mailbox wins on my bb. Any ideas. Has anyone had an email successfully deleted from their device after deleting it online?

Question Help

[UPDATE]

Deleted mail sync is working for Yahoo mail but not gmail. I had to remove the accounts from BIS and then set them back up. Sending the service books didn't work. I did the same thing for gmail and when I tried to delete an email on gmail it still remained on the BlackBerry. I went back in and checked to make sure the sync deleted mail box was checked and when it wasn't I checked it. The deleted mail is still not syncing even though I tried it again with a different email. Any ideas to get it working. This is very cool, but gmail is my primary email account so I would rather have it working on there than on the yahoo one.

Two-way sync of deleted emails is for Yahoo only.

Well that explains it then.
That was not what I was hoping to hear. I had thought it was going to be for both Yahoo and Gmail, but after reading the information about 2.3 it appears that you are right. I think a lot of people thought it was going to be for both Yahoo and Gmail because under the BIS features it said something like new features for Yahoo and Gmail and the first feature was 2 way sync. But after looking more carefully, they never mention anything about Gmail offering 2 way sync. Bummer.

thought mp3 was supported for 2.3?

it recognizes theres an attachemnet there [unlike wma files] but gives error "unrecognized document format" when it tries to retrieve it

thanks

Yes but it is one way deletes only. From BB to Gmail, and not the other way around.

Yes a close read makes it clear that it is Yahoo only, but Gmail deleted on my BB is deleting on Gmail.

Added Support for Yahoo! Mail and Gmail

Subscribers using a Yahoo!® Mail account will now have two-way synchronization of deletes to and from the Yahoo! Mail inbox, as well as two-way, virtual real-time synchronization of message status (read/unread). That means that when subscribers delete a message from their Yahoo! mail account, the message is also deleted on their BlackBerry (and vice-versa). And when they read a Yahoo! mail message on their BlackBerry, the message is immediately marked 'read' in their Yahoo! mail account. There's no need to manage messages twice. Also, subscribers using a Gmail® account are no longer required to enable POP (Post Office Protocol) before integrating their Gmail account with their BlackBerry service. And subscribers now experience virtual real-time (instead of poll-based) delivery of Gmail messages.

I see email deleted from Gmail dissapearing from my BlackBerry, however, it takes a very long time for the change to show up, and sometimes appears to require it to be deleted from the trash as well. Not sure why.

After eading, I see that this feature requires OS 4.2 is that what you are using? I am really disappointed with bis 2.3. Many of the upgrades don't apply to my 7250 and they didn't really change anything for gmail.

Now that's a bummer. I'm still waiting for T-Mobile to release 4.2 for the 8700. I have had bad experiences in the past using other carriers versions.

Question

Does Outlook webmail behave the same as before? I was hoping that you can accept / decline the meeting requests now. Has anyone tried it?
-------------------------------
Updated:
Answered my own question. Two way sync for POP, including Outlook webmail. Accept / Decline meeting requests also works, although it only adds the meeting on the BB's calendar, not on Outlook.

I finally got 2.3 up and runnig for myself with delete and read synching both ways between Yahoo and BB. 2 Questions:

1. is there any way to have a sent from BB message show up on Outlook via POP from Yahoo? I like having a record of what I sent out and use Outlook Express to pop Yahoo.

2. Is there any way to have Outlook express show an e-mail as read after poping Yahoo? I have set up Outlook Ex to only "send/receive" every 10 minutes now so if I read and delete on the BB it will never make it to Outlook but I want it to show up as "read" also. That way I do not have to go thru 50 e-mails after being out for 2 days- if I read 'em it will showit.

Thanks for any help,
John

I am also seeing mail deleted in GMail deleted from my BB as well. It does take a while, though.

Don't know what's happening here. I have not been receiving my Gmail and Yahoo emails since early this morning. Resent my Service Book and received the emails for the 3 books without issues but my GMail and Yahoo mail have not been forwarded to my 8800c. I also did soft reset and hard reset.

One bonus of the update seems to be that the Calendar now has the "Keep Appointments:" option available again. Wasn't there before with the .73 Cingular software but after I did a Service Book push, it popped up.
