Always on, mainly for the message notification.

Are you talking about the service indicator? Because the message indicator works fine w/o the service indicator. From what I know, you can't shut off the message indicator...

I hate that blinking green light...

I need the anoying blinking green light for service indication as I have poor service in my house and need to make sure that I'm getting service. I guess if you find it a bother, have it off as is the default.

Led "coverage indicator" is green and can be turned on/off in screen/keyboard.

Red "Message Indicator" can be turned on/off under profiles by turning on/of "repeat notification."

Led "coverage indicator" is always off, however I use BBAlerts and love having different colors for different alerts.

On - Always, throwback to my nextel days, always liked the service indicator light on the moto phones. And I us BB alerts to change the LED color based on type of alert.

On.

When the Pearl is sitting on a desktop I like knowing that it is working. And also so that I will not miss calls or e-mails when I have headphones on or watching a movie in THX or surround sound.

And I love the BB Alerts program. The BB Alerts program tells me, through the different colored indicator lights, what is pending on the phone.

I have the e-mail alert set to flash a blue LED. When the phone is in silent mode at meetings the blue LED has flashed; other people have looked at it with envy. I love the blue led indicator.

I prefer to have mine off mainly because it is so darn bright at night.

I like it on, although many of my friends say that it is REAL annoying cause it is very bright. I leave it on though, because....

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT... AND THERE IS NO STATUS INDICATOR, YOU DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED AND IT IS NEEDED TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR BLACKBERRY IS THERE!! IF IT I WOKE UP ONE NIGHT TO SEE IT NOT BLINKING... THEN BAM I'D HAVE TO TAKE MY BAT... SCOUT THE HOUSE CAUSE THERE IS DEFINATELY A ROBBER!!! THEY WOULD OF COURSE GO THROUGH THE DOOR... LOOT THE PEARL AND THENNN GO FOR OTHER STUFF!!! YOU GET TO CALL 911 ON YOUR LAND LINE TO GIVE A HEADS UP TO THE COPS TOO!! THE INDICATOR SAVES LIVES!!
