Damn that's nice! I still have the old school style of USB charger that I carried with a 3m USB extension cable so I could plug it into just about any outlet in my hotel room and still get it over to my bed. :D

I still like the folding blade wall charger. I walked off and left mine in a sky club and had to buy a replacement in a hurry and payed full retail. I like the long cord. And it isn't all that big, and folded blade makes it more compact.

I have an old BlackBerry USB cable -- probably the first one I got, with a 7100t -- that is pretty long. But seems the new ones are short.

My little folding blade wall charger is now in the retired gadget drawer. Along with one of these:

Ouch. Low blow.

I'm with dc/dc. Gotta be able to reach the wall outlet from the bed, or from the seat I'm in at the gate, or whatever.

No need to retire the old charger.

It took me nearly three years (two years as a Chairman) to really get light traveling down.

Poor little 7290... :(

BTW, mine isn't the folding one... It's the one that has a USB port on the bottom and accepts all of the plug types.

mriff's charger would work great for these purposes since it has the USB port, but he doesn't have the extension cable.

I didn't mean it that way ai. To each his own. I do understand the need for a longer cable and may just go ahead and add it to the travel case. I have used mine plenty in the way you describe. Who knows, I may go back to the retired gadget drawer and drag it out again. There's lots of odds and ends in that drawer that are still usable. (Except the 7280 )

Default ironic

Hi Guys ,

Just to come back with a little irony.

A USB Charger what a revolution , I m amazed.

(by the way my BB was delivered with lots of adapters for US)

As the USB charger you showed in this post , "Plug by US for US".

When can we see an EMEA version? ahahahah

Nothing ironic about it. It was about traveling, not about anything else. I highjacked your thread with something useful.

Wow, how can one person be so wrong and keep posting?
Yes, the USB charger was a revolution for phones way back, and for the iPhone it's a revolution that is still to come. I can use any standard cable.

As to the actual charger, the one that comes with the BB works great with adapters that I carry when travelling and works beutifully in any country around the world. Which one would you rather use?

Perhaps you should actually use a blackberry and not merely own one before you can be allowed to post rants on this board.
