Yup. A pity. The 9550 could use these upgrades. Since RIMs latest devices appear to lack innovation, I'm taking a hard look at a Droid when I re-up with my carrier next year. RIM has until then to get it right ...

Apparently only Verizon wanted it and then they decided to go toward Android and didn't see the value in a Storm 2+ refresh. Frankly, I don't either.

Well for the very, very little that it is worth. I was talking with a Verizon rep the other day in the plant, and he stated that there will be a torch-like slider coming out on Verizon before the Holidays.

I don't believe it. I want to believe it, but...

There are a tone of coporate Verizon BB users out there. Something has to be coming in the near future.

The OS 6 refresh of the Storm would have been nice. I have a bad trackball tour and I keep limping along hoping for something a little nicer than the Tour2/Bold.

I agree. I think something will hit before the holidays.

I can't say that I know what's coming down the pipe--I'm no insider--but I believe something is coming. Given RIM's penchant for the anti-climatic, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a CDMA Torch.

Well, I hope they do something soon. I have a Tour and would like to upgrade to a Torch. But, given that I don't want to leave Big Red, the only two options right now is the Storm (which I don't like) or the Bold (not much of an upgrade from the Tour). I'd like to stay with BB, but the Droid Pro is looking better every day.

To be honest I could care about LTE right now. I just want another option than Tour2 or Storm2 (which I think does not have enough memory for OS6)

Whatever I get I am stuck with for 2 years

Help me out Verizon

Really hope the Storm 3, especially with the new OS, is not just a rumor.
