Default adding new domain to BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I just want to know if it is possible to have two domains in a BES. Here is the scenario, I have a domain controller, exchange server and a blackberry enterprise server (BES):

Lets say I am using abc.com domain and I want to add another domain xyz.com, how am I going to setup it for my BES? I want to use the two domain at the same time.

Any suggestion and help would be highly appreciated.

note: I am a newbie in setting up BES.

Thank you,

rayeback

as long as it is in the same forest it will work, but users can not send from both domains as the device is only tied to one based on the primary SMTP address.

I'm agree with this reply. Also you should establish a trusted relationship between both domains, and give the same permissions to BESAdmin account. Remember, you will use the same besadmin account to manage both domains.

There is a difference between adding a new domain within Active Directory and simply adding in a new email suffix (and you don't have to do the first one if all you want to do is the latter). The latter requires nothing to be done on the BES, whereas the former will depend on whether it's under the same forest, part of the same Exchange Org, etc...

BES 5.0 supports an Exchange Resource Forest configuration.

Good article on Exchange resource forest config
Deploy Exchange 2010 in an Exchange Resource Forest Topology: Exchange 2010 Help

Multiple AD forests should be ok as long as

1) There is a two way trust between them
2) They are all within the same Exchange organization
