I'm thinking of getting the PLANTRONICS DISCOVERY 640 HEADSET. Does anyone here use this with their 8100? Any advice good/bad? Thanks in advance.

I have the 645 and it works great i had the 640 no DSP and some charging problems

I didn't know the 645 existed until now, thanks! But I can't seem to find anywhere selling them in the UK. Is it brand new and still being released?

I have it and it works fine like the battery charger and different sized ear pieces. Great size and comfortable but I would like something better for noise cancelling when outside or in car. I would recomend trying the same brand but new 655 because it is supposed to digital noise cancellation built in and my 640 doesn't have that.

I own both the 640 and the 655. I am a police officer, and I use the 640 for work. Even with radios (police / fire bands,) music radio stations, and at times with sirens, I've never had a problem with people not being able to hear me or vice versa. I use the 655 when I'm off work, and leave my 640 in my work bag.

I'm sure it's been mentioned about the three different ear pieces. I've never had any problems with them and I use the little "plastic loop" that comes along and it doesn't hurt my ear. It feels uncomfortable at first, but one eventually gets use to it.

Overall, the 655 sounds a bit more crisp, but my 640 has never given me a problem. Well, hope my 2 cents helps you out.

Only problem I've had with my 640 is that the it has a bad fit to the charger. A small tap gets it corrected, but it's a bit of a pain. Oh... and it's small size makes you forget it in your shirt pocket, which *could* get washed in the laundry. Not that it ever happened to me

Thanks for your input all, so does the Dicovery 655 have DSP? It appears to be available in some UK online stores so I'm about to order.
