1. My click wheel was working one minute, gone the next. I have an 8700c, and this is the first problem it's had.
2. The BB is not under warranty from RIM or Cingular/AT&T, but it is under a satisfactory guarantee through dyscern.com .
3. I do not wish to buy replacement parts.

Is there anything I can do for this? I have shoved various sized paperclips into the space between the click wheel and the casing hoping it would pop back up. It has, but then as soon as I click down it gets jammed up again.

Also, it no longer makes the fun 'click' when you press in, you have to shove your finger into it to get it to work.. and that's how I knew it was messed up. ):

Sounds like the spring popped! Send it back for a replacement.... OH... And never cram a paperclip into it....

The click wheel needs replacement! It can be done but it takes some doing! I did mine myself actuallt transplanted one from a 7290 if you aren't skilled at soldering I wouldn't attempt it yourself! New track wheels can be purchased for about 50 I happened to have a defective 7290 laying around.
Send it in for replacement be sure to wipe device of your personal info after having backed it up

I have had three 8700 whells repaired at Brilliance Communication in Dallas.

you may want to call them and see if they have a location near you.
It was about $60 a piece.

Same thing happened with the track wheel and Sprint said that they can't be fixed and recommended to buy a new phone. You figure RIM would make it more durable since it's the most used part of the phone.
