Default OS: 8800 4.5.0.81 / 4.5.0.55 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

Download Multilanguage version here: 4.5.0.55 MultLanguage
Scroll down to Blackberry Firmware and find the 8800.

Download East Asian Version here: East Asian Language version.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8800:

1. Make sure you have Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

Note: Preloaded Wallpapers and custom folder icons are not included in this release.

Upgraded my 8800, everything is working OK, except I tried to turn on my Media Card, but it won't let me, there is a lock by "off" so I cannot turn it on. I have a micro Sd installed.

Wirelessly posted (8800)

Sheesh, yet another version? Once I make this move I'll have upgraded 3 times in 2 weeks. I should have all my registration codes memorized by now...

Not that I'm dying to try it (or have it), but has anyone tried loading the media cod file with the folder icons and the wallpapers? I imagine it's possible, just curious...

Just wondering. Is this version support Chinese language (traditional and simplified), including input Chinese characters?

No Chinese in this version from this carrier. Keep an eye out on the Asian carriers as I'm sure they'll be releasing these OS's soon.

Thanks for the feedback. If no Chinese, and then what's the difference of this version? Does it worth to install it?

The difference in this version is likely just bug fixes. They may be bug fixes that affect one carrier more than others. Every OS version is developed for ALL languages and each carrier releases for the languages it needs.

Chinese languages is easy to add. I added the necessary files and was able to see and probably input in Chinese. However, I dont read Chinese too well so I don't wanna get myself in trouble if I can't get out from the Chinese language support.

Default RSA SecurID import finally working with 4.5.0.55

Seems like the RSA SecurID Import Token is finally fixed with this release...I know some people were saying that it was fixed in releases 37, 44 and 52 but was never working for me!!

I'm a happy camper now!

I just updated my 80 year old mother's 8800 over the weekend with .44
Is this worth harassing her again?

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

If your 80 year old mother can use a BB she deserves the best. Update it. This is a good OS.

Here's a copy of one of her e-mails to me.

I have no address to reply to XXXXXX on subject of blackberry. Please tell her that
if your mother can use it she would CERTAINLY be able to. You do not have to
let her know how much help I get from you!!!
Love
Mom
