This is a very disfunctional bb media issue. I added some album artwork (album covers) via flipside and xplayer and miutunes to my music library which reside inside music folders in my music directory but yet they show up as folders in my pictures and bogg the media picture down heavily in lag waiting for it to refresh this external (not in pictures folder) directory list.

Any folder on your bb with a picure in it shows up here not just sub folders of pictures folder. Is there any way to have album art show in the media music app (bb media player, flipside, xplayer, miutunes) but not in the media player picture app.

It takes me a full minute now just to open the picture folder in the bb media player app after it added over 100 directories above my first thumbnail.

This sucks! Do I have to delete every last jpg in media sync/music and have NO (zero, nill, natha) album artwork at all in order to fix this or is there a better way?

Artwork should be embedded into ID3 tags in the audio file... not a separate image.
Use something like iTunes to properly tag your music, and then you won't have this issue.

Itunes won't populate limewire derived music but I will just get a batch tag editor and take care of it in Roxio.

I was hoping for a setting or tweek to filter the media picture app to only look for pics in a user defined subset of all folders but I guess there is no way to put some blinders on the scan function.

is this ability also within WMP? i seem to recall doing this years ago, using a previous WMP, but haven't seen the menu option of late.

Sorry, I don't know. I've never tried WMP.

Unfortunately, even if the album artwork is embedded in the file, FlipSide automatically generates a separate image file for its own use. These are the files that show up when trying to view pictures.

i have a 8900 and i solved this by going:

media icon > menu > options > exclude folders > select music folder

After that the media manager won't look in the music folder when it shows you pictures.

As far as i know flipside doesn't read embedded album art, so it downloads an image and associates it with the mp3.

Please contact the distributor at electricpocket.com/flipside/feedback.php and request that feature though.
