We are issuing 20 Blackberry Curve's to technicians which we want to restrict the following activities:

- setting up personal emails
- using any version of web browser to access the Internet
- Installing applications except those got published by cooperation


How do I do this on BES 4.1.4.26 ?

Thanks for the link, 2 out of 3 questions were answered, but I didn't find how to restrict setting personal email from that FAQ.

There are a couple of settings affecting the use of personal emails.

Under Security Policy Group, there is a setting called Firewall Block Incoming Messages. In there you want to check the box for BlackBerry Internet Service Messages to prevent incoming personal emails.

Under Service Exclusivity Policy Group, there is a setting called Allow Other Message Services. If you set that to false, they won't be able to send (or set up) personal email accounts.

You want to restrict both sending and receiving of personal mail on the device?

There's two policies you need to set to do that.

Service Exclusivity Policy Group > Allow Other Message Services = False

Security Policy Group > Firewall Block Incoming Messages = BIS Messages

wonderful!! I was able to restrict everything I like to, thank you penguin3107 and fbrimm ! On last thing I need to do for these users, although it does to match the subject of this thread (i don't want to open a new thread) ---

Is it possible to push Google Maps to all devices from BES? I don't want to do it on 20 devices one by one...

Yes, you need to properly configure the Software Configuration feature for BES.
This will allow you to push Google Maps to whatever devices you want.

Instructions for setting up Software Configuration are detailed in the BES administrator's guide.
