Default Turning off 3G on the BOLD?

Please Login to Remove!

My VP is having a problem that whenever he's connected to 3G on his newly acquired BOLD, the signal strength drops so low and call quality is very bad, he is using the same SIM card as before, and never had this problem all the way from 8700, Pearl, to Curve.

Is there any way to turn off 3G on a BOLD and have it only connect via EDGE?

Unfortunately it is AT&T. So no way to turn it off through BES policy, either?

Not at this time.

There is a stickied thread at the top of the 9000 forum regarding ATT Bolds and network selection speed, it is a known (and painful) issue.

I'm not sure if its possible to do that. I know there's a setting on my IPhone to turn off 3G but I don't see one on the bold

You might try a new SIM card if its a really old one but you can't turn it off. See my stick. Buy him a Rogers one and unlock it then.
