Environment:
Windows XP Laptop
Device: BlackBerry Pearl 8100
Desktop Manager: 4.2
Lotus Notes Client
BES4.2

Clicking an icon in Desktop Manager shows the following error,

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: ...ogram Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\DesktopMgr.exe
abnormal program termination


It comes up even before doing any synchronization. The "synchronize automatically when device is connected" setting has been disabled. This KB on Blacbkerry's site suggest its happening on synchronizing:

RIM informed this is a known issue with Desktop Manager 4.2 and BES 2.2.
Resolution: You have to call up RIM support for their fix to this issue.
