Default OS: 8800 4.5.0.174/4.5.0.124 (English & East Asian)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia)
Contains English, from IndoSat
This will load on any carrier's 8800 model

Package Version: 4.5.0.174
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.124
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.92
* File name: 8800EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _Indosat.exe
* File size: 86MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B53786A2C5FA09

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8800:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."

If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Credits go to alai99 for finding this one - nice find.

Previous OS can be found here:

Thanks! Downloaded, installed and working fine. Don't notice much from 4.5.0.110 though.

Default 4.5.0.110 AT&T Keylock doesn't work, how about now?

I installed 4.5.0.110 AT&T a couple of days ago, and I noticed today that the key lock button did not work. Has anyone tried the key lock button on this OS?

Would you have any idea as to why, when I connect my blackberry to my computer and start the loader, when it brings up the communication port selection window, im not able to select anything in the dropdown menu OR select "detect communication port" ? I have it hooked up via USB, the cable works fine because I use it for my external hard drive, and all of my USB ports are working also.

You need to load the BlackBerry driver for your BB model...not just the BlackBerry Desktop software...

Does anyone know if this version supports Hebrew as well? If someone has installed it and recognizes Hebrew I could send an email in Hebrew so we can check.

Is the spell feature an addition for the 8800?

I run the Apploader and all it does is ask to update the apps on the Blackberry, but never asks to update the OS. Am I doing something wrong? I have followed the instructions and deleted the vendor.xml file.

Is there anywhere to see a list of the new features of the OS before upgrading? As a Mac user, I'm trying to decide if upgrading the OS will be worth finding someone's PC to steal for an hour when my pre-existing OS is working fine for me. Thanks in advance!

I downloaded this a while back. I'm with Verizon and they won't support it yet on my 8830.

I'm wondering if you could lead me in the right direction. I still can't get HTML email automatically, I have to use the menu and "get images" (I did get a pretty good Verizon tech to help me for over an hour before he sent me to RIM, who wouldn't help me becuase they said it was not supported by Verizon) and I can't use BB viewer because it dosen't work with 4.5.

Ron

I have the new os installed on my 8830 and everything looks great except my missing task and memo pad icons. Any suggestions on how to bring at least the tasks back?

if you want to read hebrew go to Hebrew for the Blackberry

i am adding more files here and there...use the 83xx folder for the 8800 4.5 os
choose the hebrew.jad file

it is a small download of the net_rim_font_semitic.cod file OTA

enjoy

Just have a quick question about installing this -

I unlocked my T-mobile Blackberry today for use on AT&T - can I use the 4.5 OS for AT&T that is available for download on the Blackberry site or must I install IndoSat for it to work?

This is more a question about how the OS software is "locked" to the different devices than anything else, I suppose.

OS software isnt really locked.

just delete the vendor.xml file and you are good to go as long as its for the same device model.
