Default Some questions from a new BB Curve (VZW) owner...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

I just purchased a BlackBerry Curve 8330 from Verizon this week, and am very happy with it so far. I am running BIS, and have successfully set up both my personal (FastMail) and work (Oracle Collaboration Suite) e-mail accounts. Now that I'm a few days into the experience, I have a few questions, which I was hoping someone could help me answer; I am a BB newbie, so be gentle.

1. Right now, when I look at each of my e-mail accounts, I can see only my inbox; is it possible to view e-mails in folders other than my inbox, and/or to move e-mails to those folders? Or are those features only allowed when you're running BES?

2. I have noticed that my personal / work e-mail inboxes are not always in sync with my BB inboxes -- sometimes, for example, older e-mails do not show up on my BB; other times, e-mails are still on my BB, which I have long since deleted or archived on my personal / work account. Is this a synchronization issue? Is there a setting I can change, that will keep the two in sync more quickly and/or consistently, or that will allow all e-mails to be downloaded to my BB?

3. I like the Messages application, but I don't want to see e-mails from my work / personal accounts in there -- is there any way to permanently exclude e-mails from getting sent to the Messages application?

4. Is there any way to get a copy of the e-mails I send from my BB placed in the Sent Items folder of my personal / work e-mail accounts? I'd like to have a copy of those sent e-mails somewhere else, besides my BB...

Thanks for everything!

Wirelessly posted (BB 8330)

1 yes you need BES.
2 again BES.
3 all messages go into the main email box. You can seperate them by using the sperate email icons.
4 auto bcc your account then set a filter so they don't get pushed back to the BB.

Thanks for all the information, zerog46 -- I just have one follow-up question: how do I set up an auto bcc on my BB? I looked around on the device, and didn't see any options to do that...
