Can't pair my BB 7250 with Moto H500

So, my new H500 arrived yesterday and I'm trying to pair it with no luck. I've tried pairing it several times, and my BB has only discovered it a couple times. When it does discover the headset, I select the device and the BB says it's waiting for the headset, then times out and says that the pairing failed. It never gets far enough to prompt me to enter the passcode for the BT headset. I know the BT on my BB works because I can discover my laptop. What's going on? Any help is much appreciated!
