Exclamation Need help with enabling bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

Hi-
I have a 7250 blackberry, and a Jabra BT 250v. I successfully paired my bluetooth to my blackberry several months ago. Then, they stopped talking. I tried to re-set the device, by starting over from scratch. Here's the dilemma. On my blackberry, when I click Options - bluetooth, the screen tells me that Bluetooth is disabled. When I highlight, "enable bluetooth," then click the trackwheel, the mode remains in "bluetooth disabled." I can't get it to toggle over to Bluetooth enabled. As a result, I don't get menu options like "add device," or a list of "paired devices." I'm ready to run this thing over with my car. Any other options?

I'd probably try reloading the OS first.

Did you figure out a solution to this problem? I had the exact same thing happen to me...Bluetooth headset worked fine, now it won't enable Bluetooth, either by Options--->Bluetooth--->Enable or with the "Turn Bluetooth On" icon on the main screen. In both cases, clicking appears to have no effect. Please post if you figure out how to enable it! Thanks,

Ryan

Default Having this problem as well...

I have a 7130c and am seeing the same behavior as the original post. The description is pretty much spot on for how it happened with me but it only took about a week of using the Bluetooth with both my PC and a Plantronics earbud. I have the latest handheld software available (Package Version 4.1.0.401).

I hate to reload the software but I'll go ahead and do that after a complete backup.

Edit: If I pull the battery to reset the unit the Bluetooth starts to work again for a few days. However, if I turn off the power with the button on the top of the BlackBerry does _not_ help get the Bluetooth going again. I haven't been using the earbud much so perhaps I will find some trend in its behavior now that I'm paying attention to it. I will hold off on reloading the handheld software.

I called Verizon and finally got the answer to fixing this. I had the same problem with mine. Go into Options > Bluetooth > enable bluetooth. If it still says that the bluetooth is disabled, reconcile your blackberry. After that is complete, take out the battery and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Put it back and re-start it. Go back and enable your bluetooth. From there is should work. At least it did on mine. If you still can't do it, do what I did and call Verizon, they are located in the states and he walked me through for almost an hour trying to get it to work, 800-922-4646. I hoped this helped.

Take Care!
