Yup! Nothing new... Considering you have more than 170 posts under your name, you should know better...

considering you have more, you should know enough to read posts.

nowhere in those threads does anyone mention how to setup your own shoucast server. its not just about using radiobee, its about using radiobee to play anything thats on your pc, live streaming. people in all of those threads are crying that they cant stream their mp3's to their pearl, all im sayin is you can. you dont just have to listen to online radio stations. man i spent at least 4 hours last night figuring out a way to stream mp3's to the pearl, i know there are people who want to know.

i dont mean to be rude to the first replies, they simply didnt read what this is about thats all...

i can give you a few hints. first, radiobee doesnt really like 44000hz bitrates, i find the best bitrate to use is 24kbs/2200hz. of course, the quality is poor and its not something that youll want for regular music listening in your car or anything beside headphones and/or just the phone's speaker. im hoping the updated versions of radiobee (coming soon, they say) will support higher bitrates better.

also, it skips around. i cannot tell if its just a buffer setting or what, but the modified buffer settings in the links above seem to work best. its wierd though, it will play chunks of sound sometimes from a few minutes ago, piecing it in between the live stream. it can make talk radio confusing, but talk radio is really what this is for because of the quality.

lastly, im trying to find a program that will allow me to control winamp via the pearl's wap browser. once that can be done, you could select the music you want streamed locally, instead of setting up multiple radio streams.

ive got radiobee to last over an hour before locking up. it can be a testy program, but just keep using it- it seems to work better the more its used (for some reason). there are a lot of bugs in it, if it seems froze just hit the trackball a couple times and/or wait, it usually comes out of it. and, if all else fails, a soft reset usually fixes it.

I did read, and I only posted 3 threads that I found when I searched for RadioBee. If you figured out something new that can make things work better that is great, but I think it would have been better to add what you found to an existing thread. Now there is one more thread that has to be read through when someone searches for info on RadioBee.

great! i also want to add another bug-workaround. if the station pulls up, but wont actually play- try going back and selecting a known-working station. once that starts playing, stop it, and go back to your station that was stuck. dont know why, but i have to do this repeatedly. its a better option then a hard-reset though.

Have you ever tried to just make a playlist.. load the MP3s on a 2GIG card and pop it in your phone ? BAM! Instant high quality MP3 music. Why bother streaming stuff from your PC with the piece of crap software that "Radiobee" is ? I could understand listening to a radiostation.. but streaming MP3s that you very easily have access to ? What's the point of that ? To prove it work ? Yeah.. sure it does, but it's a PAIN!
