Default C'mon Sprint, where's the 8830???

Please Login to Remove!

It's been July 1st for more than 12 hours already!

So far, no luck with Sprint. Nothing on the website and telesales was less than helpful (kept trying to sell me the "new" 8703e).

Anyone else having any luck? Anyone else care?

Hate to admit, but no, I don't care. LOL.

No, hopefully it will come out soon. I was thinking about Sprint but T-Mobile has been good to me as of late. And I have been hearing rumors that the BlackBerry 8320 will drop for TMO in September. Hopefully I won't be posting here in September if they disappoint.

There's plenty of other threads on this. Why did you make a new one?

No luck here either, was sent to various telesales locations, they dont have it yet, they tried to sell me an "8803" though lol. One telesales guy told me they wouldn't have it for a week or 2.

Plenty of threads asking who was able to locate the 8830 on the day of its release? Hmmm... I don't see any of those, thus the new thread.

Yeah the website also calls the 7130e, "state of the art"

Yes, that's the date for the in-store appearance of the 8830. There's been talk (as well as "confirmation" from a few Sprint sales folks on the phone) that it would be released for business and web sales on July 1. But it would seem that this may not be the case, as July 1st is drawing to a close. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

And that's the knowledgeable one. Atleast they had A CLUE. I go into these stores sometimes and wonder if they're busing employees in on the short bus. It amazes me how wireless communication stores seem to be terrible when it comes to the same. it's ironic that we're buying data devices from people who usually have less data than us. and it isn't just sprint.......ever gone into a best buy or fry's.....wow. if i haven't done my homework before going......most of the time i can know next to nothing about a product and still know more than the guy working the floor. so sad. end of rant

Sprint now has the 8830. No Curve, yet....I'd say lucky to have the 8830 already.

John - You're a great guy & have been very helpful on this forum ... the sarcasm and anti-Sprint sentiment do "NOT" become you!

Honestly, in the past it's taken a year for the CDMA devices to come out after release of the GSM versions. The 8830's came out pretty quickly after the 8800's, in my opinion. There is still no Pearl....I did hear a rumor of 8330 by the end of the year (8130, too) but those are just rumors.

Ok Sprint users...the 8830 is avilable via the web as of today (July 3rd) and it will be out in the stores on July 14th. You can do you upgrade through the web or even get a new line via the web.

That sounds about right. Stores won't be able to get it till the 14th, but it has been available since July 1st for business and corp/individual customers for direct ship.

I received my 8830 from Sprint today. It was ordered yesterday.

I did notice what appears to be a small difference (I think). The backlight on the one I just received is white...I was thinking the Verizon model I had stopped in and looked at a few weeks ago was blue?
