I tried searching but couldn't find any similar problem. I have a 7130c. I've had it for a few months, this problem has been going on for a minute. I have backlight set to stay on for 30 sec, or 20 or whatever, but the backlight will go off after just a second or two of not using the keypad/trackwheel. Like in the middle of typing a text message it just turns off.

I read about BBlight but I'm not sure I need that, because I don't need the backlight to stay on longer than 30 secs or whatever and there is an option for that on the phone, it just doesn't seem to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

New001, I don't know of a specific fix to that, but I will suggest a battery pull to reboot the device. That often does fix small quirks. Good luck.

That happens maybe once a week on my 7130c too.

Rather than a battery pull, I've just been going to Phone/Device. Even though it still lists the 2 minutes I had it set on, I change it to another option, like 90 seconds, and it corrects the problem (until the next time).

Not sure what causes the glitch.

I've had the same issue recently with my 7130c, and it's been extremely frustrating. The backlight would turn off after a second or two if I didn't type or move the trackwheel. I disabled the automatic backlight and this seems to fix the issue. (Albeit losing one of the features of the phone).

If anyone knows a permanent and correct solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

After almost 15 months of working properly, my 7130c is doing the same thing.

The backlight stays on for only a second or two, even tho its set for 2 minutes. Going into the Options and re-saving the 2 minutes setting fixes the problem only for a short time. I've removed the battery to reboot, but that made no difference - its pretty frustrating. Do I have any other alternatives?
