Default Use the company directory

Please Login to Remove!

I have a curve on Rogers, BES and exchange.

When I call a company and I need to use the company directory and type the persons name to get the extension. I don't have the letters on the numbers like a regular phone.

Good question, maybe you should write them on a card & keep it in your pocket. You'll probably remember them anyway

What kind of an answer is that??

The OP can hold the ALT key and press whatever letters are needed to type the name. If the OP needs to spell 'SMITH', then hold the ALT key and press S-M-I-T-H, and the BlackBerry will translate the letters to the necessary numbers.

Should I be embarrassed that I have them written on a card?

No, but you should be embarrassed that you just admitted it.

Too funny. You could, um, put them in your BlackBerry Address Book....

If you can dial them by extension, but have to dial the main number first, put them in the directory like this:

mainnumber x 1234

By having the X in the phone number field, the BB will dial the main number, then you will get a prompt on the screen to to dial the extension when asked for it (the device will actually dial the extension, it just pops up a box asking you if it's OK to dial it yet.

WTH I thought you were kidding, it works! Jeez the more I find out this device will do the more I love my BlackBaby. Also I realize how f****** stupid I am, and how unworthy to post anymore responses to newbie questions

Nah, don't feel unworthy. You'll learn. Everyone was a noob once.
