Default BB Bold and google maps 2.2.3

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Just received my Bold. Cool device beside the fact that google maps isnt´working.

If i fire up google maps it always asks me for permission to communicate with GPS and my phone. If I click on allow google maps get stuck.

I tried already

- switching off WiFi
- switching off 3G

Any other ideas why it is not working?

I am in t-Mobile Germany and google maps was running fine on my Curve :(

It was working with my .126. I just upgraded to .134 and it also works.

Have you tried resetting ALL permissions to Allow? Just to see if it is permissions related?

I know that sometimes if I accidentally screw up answering one of those permissions questions and ticked off the Don't Ask Me Again box that it's a nightmare to reset the permissions (it's sometimes not just a matter of going to Advanced/Applications/Permissions).

It did check if I can manually switch everything to allow but this option is not available in the BB setup. All is set to "prompt"..... the only other option I have is to not allow all connections

Sounds like they have a IT policy setup to block 'Allow' for those features. I just had this problem when trying to deploy 2.2.3 on my BES.

Is there a chance to check that if they block it?

And another question: It worked with the Curve on the same account without any problems. So in the end in can´t be connected to the account itself?!?!

The only way to check it is to go to the app and try to change the pref like you already did. you should call them and try to get some support. also you can try a backup and wipe (using JL-Cmder). after that keep radio off and manually load 2.2.3 with USB. attempt to set preferences for that app. and then turn on the radio to see if they change to prompt. if they do you def know its a policy issue.
