Default OS: 8320 4.5.0.152/4.5.0.110 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8320 smartphone
From At&t; This will load on any carrier's 8320 model

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.152 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.152
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.110
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.90
* File name: 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel152_PL2.7.0.90_A4.5.0.110_AT&T.e xe
* File size: 91.42MB

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

Instructions for installing on ANY 8320 (regardless of carrier)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

How common is it to provide an OS for a handset model the carrier does not even sell?

Hey

Are you sure this is for 8320, At&t does not sell this model, and I just tried, for some odd reason the desktop manager does not load this OS.

Can someone confirm on who here has installed this on a T-mobile 8320

Thanks

I just installed it on my TMO 8320 and everything is working well. Almost done with Enterprise activation but it seems to run a little better even with the activation running and hogging up resources.

Well, activation completed and it seems to run much better so far. Switching apps is noticeable and even with Viigo running, have no delays so far. Looks like a really worthwile upgrade so far. We'll see after a day or so.

Working well on my TMO 8320...

Still waiting for a 4.5 Curve OS that fixes the bug with BBAlerts. Incoming PIN messages are flagged and alerted as emails within the program. Never happened on 4.2 and from what I understand this is a RIM bug and not a BBAlerts issue.

I'd love to see this fixed in a future 4.5 release.

That's an app issue not rim. I'm shocked nobody has asked if this can be loaded on an 8310 lol. Oh if you deleted the vendor xl file there is a thread that jsanders did that you might have the check for updates feature enabled in desktop manager. Reinstall DM and uncheck check for upgrades

ohhh yay!

I'm coming from the .81 release. .152 sounds like a big jump.

I'm putting this on my unsecured T-Mobile 8320 I got from a friend. Man I love this device.

On a side note, I've heard people with other curves complain how the phone slows down or just always seems sluggish. I have never once had my phone run slow, even with lots of apps open.

Has anyone with an 8320 has a slow reacting phone ever? Or am I lucky because my phone came from RIM and not from the provider directly.
