Default Problem with my Curve 8310 media card

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, here's my problem:

I have a Curve 8310 with an 8GB microSD card. I have been using Mediacoder 0.6.2.4270 to convert my .avi files to a watchable mpeg4 (using a preset I found online) and until I got this new microSD card, I've never had problems.

Now, my ability to watch these files is hit-or-miss. Sometimes I will start watching something and halfway through it I will get an error saying that the file is an unsupprted format, or I will get that error right off the bat. Also, I can no longer hook my BB directly to my computer anymore, as it won't recognize the media card as being formatted and will want to format my 8GB card to a 3.42GB card. I can still load movies if I remove the card and put it into a USB adapter, but the results have been spotty at best.

Also, for some reason, my Desktop Manager doesn't have Media Manager, so that's the reason I cut out that step.

Any suggestions? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

First, if you want Media Manager you will need to download the version with Media Manager from Blackberry.

Second, one thing you may want to try is plug the Blackberry with the SD card into the PC.

1. Turn on Mass Storage mode.
2. On the computer, open My Computer. You should see a the BlackBerry<drive> as a Removable Storage.
3. Right click on the BlackBerry<drive> and select Properties.
4. Select the Tools tab.
5. Under Error-checking, click Check Now.
6. Select both Check disk options and click Start.

Did you convert the video to one of the supported formats shown here:

What OS is your device? You need 4.5 to use the full 8 GB card.

You can get Desktop Manager with or without Roxio. Sounds like you installed a version without Roxio. I used Roxio to convert videos for my device and it worked nicely except it's a bit slow.
