I was trying to download Blackberry Protect on my 9800 and received an error pop up that said my radio was off and I needed to turn it on. What is that and where is it? I looked all over the manual and didnt see anything mentioned about a radio.

Manage Connections.
It is also in front of you on the home screen - if it says "OFF" then the radio is turned off. Think mobile phone radio, and not AM/FM.
ur radio is ur reception basically. just curious if you've made any calls on your 9800 prior to posting the first message because if the radio is off, you have no reception therefore you cannot access ur data network unless you're on wifi. soooo im not really asking anything just curious why would u have ur reception turned off on ur phone so you cannot make calls or receive calls? thats all.
I was on R&R recently in the states and traded my 8900 for the 9800. I didn't have a chance to really play with my new phone before I returned to Iraq. I was in my hooch and was on the Blackberry website. I had been waiting for the release of Blackberry Protect and saw it listed on the website. I turned my phone on and hooked up to the computer in hopes I could download it. The location I am at in Iraq doesn't have any cell phone reception therefore no "radio". I wasn't sure at the time if it was a setting I had not seen before. And yes I do have a data plan with AT&T and will download it when I return to Dubai in June for another trip back to the states. Hope this a satifactory explanation.

The entire top row of the display brings up Manage Connections and other stuff. Tap on the battery level or the clock and you get the same screen. At least in the ATT OS build.

The more I play with this phone the more I love it. I have had the 8310, 8900, and now the 9800. I am really impressed with it. I have a lot to learn and all the tips really help. Thanks.
