Trying to get the phone on my home Wi-Fi, but keeps on saying failed to associate with the network. On the same network key i have used on my bold to check to see if it was the right key and the bold linked up with the same key. How can i get around this problem ... thanks

Which device do you really have? Your profile says 9700 yet you posted in the 9800 section.

Do you have the WiFi service book? Some carriers require that.

In "Manage Connections", is WiFi checked?

Please update your profile to reflect the 9800 as the device you are using.

I upgraded from a 9700 to a 9800 and had no issues. When you access Manage Connections and Setup Wifi do you get am error or any messages?

Resend the service books. Does your carrier require you to have a BB data plan before they push the WiFi service book? Some do.

Is the 9800 an Orange branded device? If so then do the following:

Battery pull and resend service books: How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ

If not and it is not unlocked, you need to buy an unlock code.

You wouldn't have an IP address if the BB failed to associate with the network.
An IP is assigned when connected to the network.

DO you use MAC Filtering on your router? If so, have you entered the WLAN MAC address of your new blackberry into your router settings?
