Default App Error 523 because of SD card

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so I've done some research on here, and I've found all the threads that tell me to reload the OS. And I've done that, however, what I've found is that if I just take out my sd card, everything is fine. (BTW, after re-installing the OS, everything is fine until I start installing applications) The moment I put it back in, I get this error and can't do anything except reload the OS, which I've done a couple times now. I do have a couple apps on my phone, but like i said, without the SD card, everything seems fine.

Has anyone else noticed this? I read that error 523 means that a process died, and that doesn't seem to have anything to do with data on a media card. but maybe there's some kind of conflict between data on the card and an application?

I got the error once when uninstalling Yahoo Messenger, but found that a battery pull fixed it. Then after installing blingball both times, I get the message. Nothing makes it go away except taking the card out.

Any help would be much appreciated. I also thought about trying to format my sd card to see if that fixes it, but I don't know how without again reinstalling the OS and starting from scratch.

I'm on OS 4.5, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
Jennifer

Wirelessly posted (8130)

In some cases older apps, themes etc can cause issues in an upgraded OS. Try removing all 3rd party apps and old themes. Also try reformating your SD card in your PC and insert in phone. If it allows you to do this without the errors then reformat the card while it is in your BB.

While bling is supposed to work in 4.5 in am sceptical.

Hi,

I resolved "app error 523" in my 8100.
when there is error I was not able to connect to desktop manager. And there was only option of reset in my phone.
Hopefully when I reset the phone, during bootup time I connected phone to desktop manager and using application loader I re-installed core-application.
And issue resolved. Ofcourse my settings were also lost.

Thanks,
Piyush
