Angry Battery on Pearl not cooperative!

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, I have a Pearl 8130, and my battery dies very quickly. I can unplug it from being fully charged, charging all night, and in about 2 or 3 hours I'm at about 50% battery life. Once it gets to about 40% battery life, it shoots straight down to where it shuts off radio use.
If I shut off radio use the battery will last a very long time, so it's only when I'm connected.
The battery is fine, it does this if the BlackBerry is shut off, or the battery is removed.
If I talk to someone in a call for about an hour to kill the battery, charge it again and talk some more, the next day it will die quickly, but the day after I'll be able to not have to charge it for a couple of days..
Anybody know any other way to solve this problem?? I'm tired of not being able to contact anybody because I always have to have radio use to off. Help me!

*EDIT* Also, right now when the battery won't last but a few hours, when I plug it in to charge it, it takes about 2 hours to charge from about 25% or lower. When the battery is working like it was before, I could plug it in at 5% and it would charge to 100% within less than an hour.

You could buy a new battery. Sounds like the old one is shot.

I was thinking that myself. But if the battery was shot, wouldn't it always want to do this?
If I use it by talking which kills it quicker, it lasts a much, much longer period before It needs to be charged.

Moved to the 8100 section.

Are you running a lot of apps in the background - apps that tend to use data? However, it does sound like a bad battery. How old is the device? Is this the original battery?

I haven't got too many apps running all the time, but it's the same amount of apps that I ran before when it lasted just fine. It only does this if I take the battery out, or do a restart. Then once I talk on the phone a bit, it'll be all better again. I have no idea why it would do this.
The device is approximately a year and a half old, original battery, when I got the Pearl from one of my buddies it had only about 23 hours of talking time on it, only had about 3 or 4 apps that don't come pre loaded to the device. So it wasn't used much.

New battery would be the solution. I didn't use my pearl much and my original battery only lasted about a year before it started to have issues with holding a charge.

Bought a brand new battery a few days ago. It has now been cycled about 6 or 7 recharges, it made no difference in how long it lasts at all. So, I'm still stuck.
Blah!
