Question Which is better: PocketMac or Missing Sync?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been searching around on this forum and visiting each of these sites for more info, but I'd really like to know, from the users' perspective, which of these apps works better for them when syncing with the the 8830 and why.

I have a Mac Mini (G4) running 10.4. I have access to a Windows machine for software updates (much as I hate the idea of having to deal with that), but will need a good syncing option for my MacMail, Calendar, etc.

What say you? Is there a third option I should be checking out?

Probably the one you get to work! There are problems with both from what you read here.

Since PocketMac is free, I would try that first and if it works for you, then you have a solution. If not, then maybe MissingSync will be the answer, but it does cost money.

I have PocketMac on my PowerBook G4 and it works, but then I don't use it all that much right now.

Thanks. I keep forgetting that the one costs $ and the other is free! Obviously it'd be smart to start with the free one first!

Missing sync is well worth the money.

Only if PocketMac doesn't work and MissingSync does - IMHO.

There are many who can't get either to work.

I have to admit- I paid the $4.99 for them (PocketMac) to keep a copy of the download for me for 1 year. And the only reason I did that was because I couldn't find enough info about what the possible limitations were of NOT purchasing it, which I'm sure they designed for suckers like me!
