Smile Password on a BB Curve 8900

Please Login to Remove!

How can I remove (disable) the password on a BB Curve 8900? I to to Options - Password, click on the 1st line (it shows Enabled), Disable does not appear, in fact what appears is the same menu as when clicking the Menu key. If I try with the Spacebar, nothing happens.

Do you see the small red lock icon by the password setting?

If so, it's been locked to require it by your company BES , or you are using an old device which still has a BES IT Policy on it.

I see the small Icon (to the left of the Enabled). Previously I could enable/disable the password. My BB is personal, it is not a company BB, nor does it use or have BES. Can this be related to the Theme? I changed my theme 2 days ago, from a free Theme to the Momentum Glyde theme from Trymax.

Nope, shouldn't be related to the theme.

Options > Security > General Settings, scroll the bottom at **services** do you see a policy name stated just above or below?

I discovered that if you select to encrypt your SD cards, and use the Password option, then you cannot disable password on the security screen. You first need to go to the Memory screen (Options - Memory), disable SD card encryption (set to None), Save, then goto Password, and you are able to Enable/Disable.
