Default 8900 Wifi Only problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, we recently cancelled (suspended) our BIS data service until we get back.
Now 8900 is running on wifi only, and it seems like we cannot use any of the browsers or Windows Live Messenger or anything else for that matter.

Is there any setting I need to adjust to allow it to work over Wifi?
It is running T-Mobile's rom, if needed I can install another vendor OS, etc..

You need an ACTIVE BlackBerry Data Plan to use those data features.

T-Mobile has HotSpot browser, I thought you could at least use that to check some websites.

I am not sure if my question was not clear or if you thought about something else.
I was able to set up the 8900 to run on wifi only and still access messaging applications, facebook app, get e-mails using logicmail, set up opera or hotspot browser to access websites, and add bbweather to check weather. This means until we get our new device and service, my wife will be able to use this on wifi only.

Of course native e-mail client or BBM will not work over wifi.

Not to mention being able to call over Wifi using T-Mobile's UMA service, which has been available and something we have been using for many years.
