Hey whats up everyone? My name is Tristan and I just got my hands on my brothers old blackberry 6210 (dinosaur i know). I love the heck out of the thing and plan on keeping it until it goes ka-put. I am the sales manager for a smaller company called The Motorsports Authority, we build high horsepower cars and trucks.... I am always out at car shows or events, so having all the functions of the 6210 is nice for networking with vendors...

ON TO THE GOOD STUFF: ( I did a few searches and found no real help )

1. I'm on OS 1.4.73.0 (i think) can i upgrade without slowing this thing down to much, what are the advantages?

2. I hate the fact that the back light does not automatically come on when i press any key. (most of the car shows i'm at tend to be dark in some places, Is there a way to make the backlight come on when i press any key?

I'm not sure what version you could go to or what features gained vs performance loss on the 6510. Any of you 6510 users know? In the software fourm on the main page, there should be a link for bb lite. It will turn on the backlight when you remove it from the holster or hit a button or scroll wheel. You might have to get the extended battery to make it through the day with the added drain from the backlight.I didn't want a blackberry at first, but I'm not sure how I managed before.It is a real time saver and organizer. I find that the bb and a wifi and bluetooth enabled iPac is all I need to leave a laptop behind.Hope this is of some help.
