Angry Bluetooth connectivity to 2006 lexus

Please Login to Remove!

I am having trouble having a "stable connection" with my Blackberry 8700c and the Bluetooth in 2006, lexus GS. It connects but then drops always. Is it the phone or not 100% compatible? Cingular Wireless has no clue.

Just thinking out loud. go to option and BT, and change the settings on the lexus BT entry to be trusted. I had this happen with one of my regular BT headset as some BT's go to sleep for a bit and changing that got it to stay connected.

I have that combination and no problems. Try deleting and re-adding the BB. The only issue the Lexus bluetooth has is dropping calls when call waiting is activated on the handheld device and a second call comes in. There is no fix for that one that I've found.

assuming the bberry has no problem connecting to a headset I would take your Lexus into the dealer and have them look at the car.

If it's connecting to headsets fine it's not an issue with the bberry, it's with the car.

And you're right, it may be a compatibility issue.

It is the phone. Read the post in bluetooth section. You are not the only one.

I had that problem with my car with the stock Cingular OS. When i went to bharti it improved this BT connection greatly. (A side note- I went to the Telestra OS after the Bharti and with the Telestra installed my bluetooth connection was even worse then when I was running the Cingular OS. Now that i have reverted back to bharti my connection is very stable)

I have a Cingular 8700 paired with a 2006 GS and it works fine for phone calls. The 8700 is automatically recognized each time I turn the GS on and the connection does not drop. However, I've had no luck transferring the address book. The moment I choose transfer from the GS the BT connection is dropped from the phone. Has anyone found a way to get their 8700 address book over to the GS?

It seems like there is no way to manually enter any phone book info into the Lexus GS. That's silly.

I have a 2006 GS and it connects to my TMO BB8700 just fine. I do not have any issues with the connecting dropping other than when a second call comes in, or if I get a meeting reminder while I am in a call. Other than that it is pretty solid.

Correct. No way to enter it manualy. I took my crappy old Treo 650, dumped my BB contact out of Outlook into the Treo, then transfered the Treo address book (all at once) to the Lex. I then tossed the Treo in the glovebox and use it for updates. This is the only useful thing I have found the treo can do!

Thanks for the info. I also have a crappy old Treo 650 and could not get it paired with the GS 430. After selecting “Add Phone” the Treo recognized the GS and then asked for the 1212 passcode, which I entered, but then nothing happened. The screen on the GS just sat their asking to have the passcode entered, and the Treo was not paired.

Any ideas? Do I need to delete the paring of the 8700 before trying to add the Treo?

No, you shouldn't. I have them both paired at the same time. Once I entered the 1212 PassCode mine connected right up, and I went to transfering. Not sure what the issue is, but I know it works. I put all my contacts into group called 'lexus' and then did a 'Beam Group' and viola!

You can always have the dealer connect it for you. I couldn't get the stupid #2 button on the mirror to open the gate to my driveway. Ended up calling the dealer who sent out a service guy to set it up for me..I guess that is why you pay $50k for a car

I’ll give it another try. When you chose “beam group” from the Treo did you first start the data transfer from the GS?

No luck. The Treo goes through the pairing process and says it has paired with the GS, but the GS screen never changes from the window instructing to enter the 1212 password into the phone. It seems like the GS is not recognizing that the phone has paired, even though the phone does. If I cancel out of the GS screen the Treo does not show up as a paired device.

Do you know if the Treo must have an active SIM card in it and be connected to the cellular network in order for the pairing to work? Any other thoughts on what might be the problem?

Will the GS pair and except phonebook transfers from a PocketPC with Bluetooth that is not a phone? How about a laptop?

I appreciate any and all advice.

Ken

You do not need a SIM or network connectivity to make this work. I think any Plam devie that supports BT would work. I do not know about the Winblows devices.

Sounds like you may need to bounce the NAV system. There is a way to do a factory reset on it, but I am not sure how.
