Default BB 7290 - Blue Tooth Stopped Working

Please Login to Remove!

Help, All of a sudden My Blue Tooth Stopped working.

I have a Jabra 250 Set I went to there websit on how to reset the device did that no luck, I removed the battery out of the BB and removed the Sim Card to do a hard reset. No luck.

After I removed the battery and Sim Card I noticed something when I turned it back on the icon for the Blue Tooth was gone, however it was still in the options.

Thoughts? Help??

I can still make calls but I have a $130 headset thats worthless without Blue Tooth :(

Default Try to pair the device again

I noticed that when I took bblight 1.0 off my 7100 to add 1.82 or update it , I had to pair my M810 again. Hope that helps.

The Bad part is it doesn't even give me the option to pair it, its like it's just done for some reason?? I don't want to send it in for repair but why would the Blue Tooth just go out??

The main menu icon disappears until you have a device successfully paired. Make sure it is enabled, and re-pair your device. The BT icon will reappear.

use your desktop manager and launch the application loader and reload OS. You can also try getting an update and trying the app loader as well.

I went into the Application Loader but there isn't anything to load, it reads the Java and then thats about it. No OS to load or individual compoents. Am I doing something wrong?

Default Try these steps:

How to pair the Bluetooth device with the Blackberry: a short tutorial.
1. Go to "Options" and click the wheel. Type a "b" and you should go to "Bluetooth" (if not, scroll and select "Bluetooth")
2. Click the wheel. It should read "Bluetooth: Disabled" at the top of the screen
3. Click the wheel and select "Enable Bluetooth"
4. Turn on the Bluetooth headset and be sure that it is in "pairing mode" (each device is different, so please refer to the included instructions)
5. Click the wheel and select "Add Device"
6. A screen will appear with a bar showing "Searching for Devices"
7. When it finds the headset the name of the headset device will appear on the screen.
8. Authenticate the headset device by typing the passkey.
9. Select the named device and click the wheel. Confirm that it is "Connected", if not click the wheel to "Connect"
10. Select the device and click the wheel again. Scroll to "Device properties"
11. Scroll to "Trusted?: and hit the space key until it shows "Yes"
12. Scroll to Encryption and hit the space key until it shows "Enabled"
13. Click the wheel and select "Save"
14. Select the device, click the wheel and select "Options"
15 Scroll to "Discoverable" and hit the space bar to show "No"
(IMPORTANT: this prevents other Bluetooth devices from "discovering" and your headset)
16. Select "Save"
17. Click the escape button twice to return to the home screen

Also - once enabled, a Bluetooth icon should appear on the home screen of the Blackberry that will allow the user to turn it off and/or on. There will also be an additional icon that appears on the top right had screen of the Blackberry that looks like a miniature version of the Bluetooth icon (same one from the main screen - to the right of it will be two little icons that look like this ---> "< >" , which means that the device is connected to the selected Bluetooth headset.

Did these instructions MULTIPLE times. Blue Tooth is enabled, however when I search for the headset, I don't find a thing.

The wierd part is the icon is missing from the home screen with the rest of the icons. I miss my Blue Tooth :( Please help

"IF" the bluetooth headset is in PAIRING mode (please confirm which method your headset uses to go into pairing mode - some are quite difficult to tell *when* or *if* they are actually in pairing mode) ----> then the BB should find it in step 6~7.

I have a couple of additional thoughts:
1) Use the search function (steps 1 ~ 6) and use a *different* Bluetooth headset. Borrow one from a firend. If that works - then your Bluetooth headset is broken - which, obviously, would prevent you from pairing it.
2) I'm sure that you have already done this, but try "re-booting" your BB by holding down the half moon key while pressing the CAP and DEL key (then let go). Your red alert light will stay on while you see an hourglass icon revolving on your home screen until it re-boots completely.
3) For whatever reason, you may need to reload your software. Check other places on this forum for how to do that.

About the ICON: It will NOT show up until you have paired your BB with a Bluetooth headset. at that time, it will "magically" appear on your home screen.

Default Similar issue....

My BT was acting flaky tonight. I couldn't call up the "options" on BT, couldn't turn it off either.

I just powered it off, and re-powered. It's working again.

I am having a different issuemy bluetooth logo appears and it looks but my headset will not work. In the menu it does not show that I have any paired devices and it will not find any new ones on a search. If I turn the headset on, it shows the passkey entry real quick and then it dissapears.

any suggestions?

It does not appear until you successfully pair to the device. If you don't pair, no icon.

Default No Bluetooth Help

I had the exact same thing happen to my 7290.

I contacted tech support (Rogers Wireless - Canada) and they told me to upgrade to OS 4 to fix the bug. I did, and it worked. It has been about 6 weeks since the fix and no problems anymore.
