Default got a Blueant Z9 - having an issues? please help.

Please Login to Remove!

OKAY, I'm a newbie to the whole BT thing. I have a PLT Voyager and I can answer and end calls using the multifunction button on the side of the receiver. I also have a new Blueant Z9 and it works fine except when I go to end a call by using the multifunction key it just states: maximum volume on or std volume on:. It won't end the call. Am I doing something wrong?

Advise. Overall kickin BT headset.

I don't have a Z9 but from the manual:

Press and Hold the MFB for 3 seconds to end the call

It would be the only headset that I ever heard of that behaved this way, all the ones that I have used is just a simple tap to end a call.

You need to hold the MFB for three seconds. Single taps set the level of noise cancelation (standard and max) not volume.

Wow. I know a LOT of people who get electronic devices, and don't bother to read the manual.

You're the first person I know of, who reads the manual, but doesn't bother getting the device!

BTW, the Z9 works great with the Pearl! Excellent bluetooth headset.

I have had the Blueant Z9 since the first day it came out....by far the best BT headset out there...I love the fact that I can plug it in and download the latest firmware to it.
BTW.... yes you have to hold down the MFB for 3 seconds to end call.....while still ringing though if you hit the button once it will end the call without the hold.

My next BlueTooth headset for sure, coming from an BlueAnt X3. Wanted to get the V12 due to it's caller ID display but been able to upgrade Z9's software sounds better.

I guess I will be getting the BlueAnt Z9. Being to upgrade the firmware is what I like about BlueAnt products. I saw it at the digitalLife convention they had in nyc last year.

I have given up on headsets since I got my Blueant Supertooth Light speaker. Its stays in my car and is soooooo much easier than an headset. Love it and the quality is great.

So what's the difference between v1.0 and 3.3? I guess I'm unclear as to why so many firmware upgrades. I have several bluetooth devices throughout my home (printers, etc...) and they all work great with not having to "update" the firmware. Even buying a new laptop with Vista they all worked fine. Again, just trying to understand why a bluetooth headset would require so many firmware updates.
