I work for T-Mobile. I have had no word of it yet, but can't imagine it being much longer until we do get it.

I heard via a local cell phone store that the 7130 on T-Mobile will be available in mid to late July.

Anyone know if it will be the same size as the 7130c? How does the 7130c compare to the 7100t (in size)?

I just called TMobile and they said they do not have a similiar phone coming out in the near future. I'm not sure I believe that but maybe its true.

that sounds like garbage to me...i think it's just a matter of time (hopefully a SHORT matter of time) until they release it.

it's a definite release for TMO, but the specific date has yet to be set. expect it in a few months (early Fall sometime, i believe).

I hope this will happen, because I have heard conflicting reports (on this site) as to whether T-Mobile will or will not release. I have been waiting on it; let's see if that wait will be in vain.

Just to clarify - I'm a Cingular freak, have been for years and usually don't care what T-Mo is doing. I treat them like my ex's.

Anyway, I went in a T-Mobile Corporate store in mid-late April and asked about the 8700 because I knew it was coming out. They told me it wasn't...but I knew it was soon, because I:

Read BBF
Read Howardsforums
Etc

So - they're probably lying to you.

My thoughts exactly. Ever since they came out first with the 7100t, they've been sitting back and let cingular be the first to get the new blackberries. I've been patient, but after hearing about the 8700 series and edge capability, I was getting jealous big time. Nearly sprung for the 8700g till I found out that cingular once again has the phone I really wanted all along. I know Verizon was first with the 7130, but I'm partial to gsm phones.

i just find it hard to swallow that other carriers have had it available to their customers for months and we're still waiting for TMO. but i suppose it's the case with every phone they release. they're way behind. maybe we're the suckers for putting up with it and waiting it out.

Why does everyone want a 7130 from TMO?? Why not just get an 8700g. Much better phone than the 7130 IMO..

Don't you get it? Some of us prefer the form factor of the 71xx series plus want the Edge capability of the 87xx series as well as the faster intel xscale cpu. And since we're on TMO, we don't want to have to go to the trouble of buying a phone outright from other gsm carriers and have to unlock it to use it with TMO everytime.
