I have a 7100r. when I charge it with the power off, there is a bright green indicator light that flashes. I have tried everything to disable it. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure it's anything to do with charging and not the "coverage indicator"?

Try changing Settings -> Options -> Screen/Keyboard -> LED Coverage Indicator

my LED coverage indicator has been set to off and the charging light still comes on. it drives me crazy at night

I turn mine around and slip it part way into the case.
