Question Bold 9650 Processor Speed?

Please Login to Remove!

Now that RIM has officially announced the new 9650, I was curious to find out what the specs were regarding its processor speed but nothing was listed under specs on RIM's site. If I move over to this phone down the road, I was curious to see how the CPU speed would compare to my old 8330. I see that it has 512MB on the 9650 vs. 96MB on my 8330 but I was disappointed not to find out what the clock speed is or how the clock speed compares to say the other two Bold models.

Would anyone know how to obtain this information? I would have to assume that it should be faster. Just curious.

The 8330 processor was in the 300 MHz range the 9700 is the 600 MHz range so the 9650 is still slightly behind..

Early gen Curves used a 312mhz; 9700 - 624mhz; 9650 probably a 524mhz one. Really wish RIM would put that info on their webpage under device specs. It would make it so much easier.

Or at least show consistency.

I can't see why RIM would release newer devices with less processor speed.

Not that anyone will notice a difference but it's just the question Why!

Well I'm not sure how accurate it is but Phone Scoop is listing it at 624MHz. They just posted this yesterday I think.

Also they list the memory available to the user at 317MB.

Finally, they have the speakerphone listed as Half-Duplex (now that can't possibly be right).

I'm in Orlando now... Unofficial word on the floor at WES is that the 9650 has the 6**mhz processor... don't recall the last two digits... It's simply amazing to me how tight-lipped these RIM folks are when down here... they must put their kids on consignment or something before RIM will let them come to these events... you spill the beans, no more kids.

Maybe that's why it's called the Bold now. Because of the upgraded processor.

If that is the case I don't know why they would want to hide the fact.

Yep...this goes back to my visit to the RIM booth at CES back in January. They acted like I had two heads when I asked them about the upcoming model. They knew "nothing" about it!

9650 will be running a 624 MHz processor. No doubt.
