Default Blackberry Tour Coming to Sprint?

Please Login to Remove!

I see info in other forums about the Tour coming to Telus soon, then to VZW and possibly Sprint. Does anyone have a semi firm release date to Sprint? I was going to get my first BB this month, but would wait if a non-camera Tour was coming out in July. What's the latest?

My sources tell me that Sprint will be bought by T-Mobile before the Tour comes out.

Well that would be interesting.

T-Mo is GSM while Sprint is CDMA, interesting indeed.

Is Sprint really doing that bad?

Just a rumor of course. ;)

True, but they have a common frequency (1900 MHz), which would make the switch easier.

Yeah, they're not doing so hot. They are really betting on the Pre.

I would think that Verizon would be interested in Sprint.

Yes, it would be logical for VZW to take a long and hard look at Sprint Nxtel where they can leverage synergies. However, VZW is still in deep with the AllTel merger.

A TMO purchase would make sense, if they can find the finances to pull it off. Sprint being forced to divest part of it's iDEN network in the Midwest will help.

In either case, there are a number of regulatory hurdles to overcome. As it is, we're down to four national wireless carriers - AT&T Mobility, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

I'll be slightly dissappointed if Sprint gets this going before VZW.

No I suspect they are within a week from each other. VZW wants to get this moving. The next focus will be transfer Storm 1 users to Storm 2

Sprint isnt do that bad.

Sprint Nextel Corporation Q1 2009 Earnings Call Transcript -- Seeking Alpha

Also to point out ...

Quote:
The company served 49.1 million customers at the end of the quarter, compared to 49.3 million at the end of 2008. This includes 35.4 million post-paid subscribers (25.3 million on CDMA, 8.9 million on iDEN, and 1.2 million Power Source users who utilize both networks), 4.3 million prepaid subscribers (3.5 million on iDEN and 800,000 on CDMA) and 9.4 million wholesale and affiliate subscribers, all of whom utilize our CDMA network.

I know Sprint lost a little over 1 million subscribers Q2 but gained 3 million. I dont see the q2 earnings posted yet on sprint.com
