I don't know if this is a hardware or software or network issue... but pretty much once a day, I get a "data connection refused" error message. This stays until I do the ##000000 CDMA menu where I note that, yet again, the SID password has gone blank. I type in the password Verizon told me over the phone (3 letters), and save it; I get a reboot (takes forever) and voila, I'm back on the network.
That I have to do this every day is becoming annoying. Anyone have any ideas as to why my phone keeps forgetting this password?
- Batteries are fully charged
- I don't get a great connection near my house; often a 1x instead of a 1X or even no signal. Perhaps a connection?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Verizon's suggestions have been either 1) keep typing in the password; one day it will stick or 2) take out the battery and let it reboot; that will put it back on the network... But that's even more insane than having to keep typing in the SID password...
Now, perhaps its actually the act of the reboot which is the "get back on the network" thing, and not actually the SID password. That is, maybe, as a security thing, the SID pw is never displayed, and its actully the reboot which makes it work.
If that's the case (I don't really know), then suggestions on other ways to get past the "data connection refused" message would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
