Not sure but you can check the version:

In the windows register:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MDACVer.Versio n\CurVer

or use the MDAC Utility: Component Checker:

Yes, the whole point in upgrading to SP1 before upgrading to SP2 for the BES is because the only way to load MDAC 2.8 SP1 on the server is through the service pack. These are the exact words from a BES server engineer. You must load SP1 for 2003 server before upgrading to SP2 on BES 4.0.

I just looked on my server, I am running Windows server 2k3 sp1, and mdac is 2.8 sp2(not sp1)

That doesn't include Windows 2003.

There is a work-around available if you cannot deploy Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2003.

Since i've installed MDAC 2.8 sp1 on windows 2k3 without a problem....

And AFAIK, windows 2k3 sp1 does not include XML parser 4 sp2
