Default Scratch on screen..

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

First post, great forum, thanks...

I have a small scratch in the top left hand of my screen, (near the time and date stamp.) It's not big, but it's driving me crazy..
Which is especially frustrating because I always keep the 8800 in a case.. And somehow it got scratched anyway.

Anyone know what it will cost me to have this fixed? How long does it take? Or should I just live with it?

Thanks,
B

Hmmm.. if it's not big, I wouldn't go to the trouble of getting it fixed.

I've had mine for a week, and I'm dreading my first scratch. I'm hoping the material is a little more scratch-resistant than the 8700.

Welcome to BBF!

If scratches bother you then you have to get a screen protector immediately for any current BB -- regardless of whether you use a case or not.

B-Line,

The scratch you're refering to is not on the screen, but on the protective housing of the 8800. If it really bothers you, you can replace the entire housing for $40.

The 8800 is much more prone to scratches than the 8700 was. . . I keep mine in the holster that it came with and it has nice vertical scratches on the screen. . . . It's the same material that the first ipod nano came in, and we all know how that turned out for Apple.

Where have you found the housing for 40.00? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's black. And, our keyboards are the dark blue with the majority of the 8800s out there being from Cingular.

You might want to buy case that will cover the scratch and protect going forward. I ordered a 8800 Classic Vaja case. This case will probably cover it enough so you will forget all about it

csurfr,

When I purchased it last week, it was $39.99, but I guess the demand went up and so did the price.

Cellular Accessories - SonyEricsson, NEC, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Sanyo and Samsung. Quality housing, keypads, LCD screens, chargers, batteries, data cables, parts

As far as the color difference, unless you look at it closely, you can't tell the difference.
