What seems to have happened is that High has become Medium and Medium has become Low. So we've got more decibels, but have lost the ability to play tones quietly.

On towards the next beta...

AAAAAArgh.

I have tried to update to .133 half a dozen times, using DM 4.6 and 4.7.

I have a stock 8900 and I have deleted the vendor.xml but each and every time I update, it gets stuck at "uploading RAM" then I get a fatal error alert. This is the first time I have not been able to update an OS.

What am I doing wrong? Help!

If you have the device connected to on a usb then that's the problem. Connect it straight to the comp

Do you mean USB hub? If so, I am connecting it direct to the system.

I got it working - it was the emulator (VM Fusion) that I was using on my Mac. It created some kind of disconnect for the 8900 upgrade in a way that it hadn't for the Bold or Curve or Storm.

So the solution (for others suffering the same problem) was to do it through Boot Camp running Windows natively.

As for result - the new OS is much better. Quicker, more stable and with better battery life.
