Default Question of VZW Theme

To Stinsonddog: Do you know if the first icon that appears in all BB's, enterprise activation, can be moved off that or any other screen? I am new to BB and haven't even set up the 8703e I got through work since I am waiting the two weeks for the 8830. I am hoping to put in an icon for Pocket Day or whatever in place of the activation one. I also think the screen / theme is great as currently shown and don't want it cluttered.

Any assistance with this would be appreciated. I have been doing plenty of research, but am not certain what can be customized on the screen ala Palm Treo's and Win Mobile. I just want to get that valuable real estate back.

Thanks.

whats the big deal, wifi sucks because it takes forever to load, unless your going to use your phone in an office or home all the time, in which why not just use a computer, and second, why dont you just pay 20 bucks a month to have almost 3g internet anywhere

Yes you can move them around as you like. EA goes away after it runs.

Sprint version, yes. Verizon...well, I doubt it unless they can figure out a way to get your $ if you use it.

That is not the default theme for vzw I have seem the pixs from vzw and it going to be the the same theme as the 8703e...
But you can always update to a better os or download a better theme.

I am starting to think about leaving sure type for qwerty...

Will the unlocked Sprint version allow for data transfers from abroad? I read somewhere in the Sprint description that the unlocked phone can only be used for voice calls and not for data transfers.

What do you guys think...$549 or $599 full retail? I'm afraid to know the answer, but I'd love to upgrade my 8703e...it's cool and all, but I'm a gadget freak and need the latest and greatest.

I sure hope you're right. But with the "world phone" name and the GSM capabilities, I expect it to be more. I have no inside knowledge so I don't know a damn thing, I just would expect that seeing as how the 8703e was in that $469 range.

Cool Verizon Data Plans for 8830

I still wonder whether the 8830's GPS capability with be available in the Verizon version (my carrier), and whether I can stick with my 8703e Verizon $69.95 per month unlimited data plan (plus an additional $9.95 per month for tethering) with the 8830. The international voice and data plan is not at all important to me! If anyone has any news concerning these two questions, PLEASE continue this thread!

Unless data service is much more expensive for the 8830 that my present 8703e, you can put me down for one of the first 8830's as soon as Verizon makes it available. At last, I can quit carrying around TWO phones, and having to pay for two services. Hallejulah!!!!

Pretty bad. Qualcomm MSM6550 first used in Blackberry 7250. Kinda outdated chipset for today's technology. Should have used Qualcomm MSM7500 that runs 400 Mhz.

Question:
What is the Micro SD card for? Is this only for mp3's/video's?
Can it be used a file storage to view files on the device (doc's, pdf's, etc.)?

HUH? You're paying 69.95 plus 9.95 for data on your BB? If so, you're getting screwed. The rest of us are paying at most, 44.95 + 15 for tethering...and some get even more discounts with particular calling plans.

He's not getting screwed at all.
International BB data plans are typically around 65-70 per month.
The 44.95 plans do not include international blackberry data roaming.
