Please Login to Remove!

I don't know how long it has been up for . . . and if anyone has posted this previously . . . but the latest version of PocketMac seems to work (4.1.215)

I am stunned!

Anybody have any more info after installing? Is this release faster than the previous version?

I recently bought Missing Sync- is this going to make me regret it?

ALERT: the new version (4.1) doesn't fullly support PowerPC. the "datapurgeUI" utility is an intel only app.

Does anyone have the previous version? i need to wipe my calendar and have no way of doing so with the new version!

Just tried it with my 8310 (OS 4.2). Worked for me and is really fast. I really like the fact that it has the option to toss my notes into Mail rather than stickies.

as far as I am concerned.

It's not detecting the media card in my bold. Says "No media card present". I'd really like to use this software to push iTunes music and iPhoto albums to the device. Formatted the card from the Bold's software, and that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas?

This, a million times over. Without the same abilities to do OS updates and anything else that the standard Windows program does, PocketMac (and MissingSync for that matter) are a step or two above being useless.

Anne, PocketMac has a lot of work to do. The support site you reference is old and contains outdated information. Heck, the 8110 is referenced as a new device in one of the "newest" articles, and Leopard support is listed as in testing and coming soon.

On top of that, basic functions are missing as noted above... basically, there is no Desktop Manager equivalent for us Mac users, including the new Media Manager software for Windows only from RIM.

Finally, the existing software needs to be cleaned up and follow Apple's design rules a little bit closer. It looks sloppy and out of place on Leopard. MissingSync looks so much better, seems so much more stable (both in my experience and reading comments here and other places)... but it too is missing a lot of function.

Good luck, but I won't be holding my breath if the level of accurate and timely information on your support site is any indication of the progress we can expect from your company.

Hi,

I thank you for pointing that out about the 8110, and I'll of course see that it's updated promptly.

I thank you for the additional feedback, and I'll share it with the development team.

Many thanks!

After one technical error (probably on my part), I manged to get the latest version of PocketMac working with my 8330 Curve. Latest version 4.1.215, latest OS for my 8330.

See this thread for details if anyone else has this problem: /mac-users-corner/148752-erimcontacts-quit-unexpectedly.html

This is what I've done, I bought vmware fusion on ebay for 34.00 instead of 79.00 . I also had a windows xp upgrade cd, used that along with a windows 95
install cd that you can get on ebay for 5.00 for validation. use the xp upgrade cd first, it'll ask for windows install cd, then put in the windows 95 cd , it will validate and ask for xp upgrade cd , let it do it's thing. works great..
I now have DM 4.6 installed along with OS 4.2 . might upgrade to 4.5
and I can install themes and programs from dm..

BTW, you can try vmware free for 30 days, from their website, I liked it so much I bought it on ebay for 34.00 plus 9.99 shipping , still better than 79.00.

I also installed pocketmac to sync contacts from address book, ical and billings from my mac to my 8820

If Rim wants to spank apple they should come out with a do all program for mac,
besides between att 3g service and Apples iphone all you got is a glass phone that crashes all the time.

Thanks att, I was able to sell my 2g 16gb iphone unlocked and jailbroken for 750.00.
due to the 3g crap
