Default 8703e Does yours get phone service

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Tmo 8700. The phone never works...ok, 30-50% of the time. I'm ready to cancel my plan and go wth Vzw. The sill thing is I have a V600 tmo and it gets service in the same exacr spot that my beloved BB doesn't.

I'll love any suggestions...

I don't have any problems with my 8703e. Voice and data both work great.

If you talk a lot, the BlackBerry 8700 should be a backup phone. Get a basic dedicated cell for that. The push e-mail reliability is the reason to get the BlackBerry 8700. Everything else ~ from phone to internet to PDA ~ is just an added bonus.

I disagree. I only have an 8700g for phone and data. My phone reception and voice quality are perfect.

I have always used a "basic" cell (like v3c) and my BB as a secondary device. With about a weeks of using the 8703e, I called and made it my primary line. Now I carry (briefcase, glovebox) a Motorola v325 as my "backup" phone. I like this combo because the 8703e handles my voice & data perfectly and I can carry one device when I feel like it. Having the tri-mode v325 gives me some added assurance for fringe-area reception if needed.

I think this new 8703e will work as a solo device for those so inclined. I have always wanted this type of option, but it didn't happen with my 7130.
