I just got an 8700c. I am new to the BlackBerry world and I really like the device. I think I want something more compact like the Pearl (or 7130c or similar) since I switched from a Razr. If I switch to something more compact I would obviously have to go to a suretype keyboard. I heard the suretype keyboards are hard to get used to. For the low volume of typing I do, it may work for me. Any feedback/opinions much appreciated.

Suretype is great, the keys are larger for those with huge thumbs (me )
it took me a week or so to get used to. My only complaint is when i do not proof read my emails before i send them..... "see" and "are" use the same combo of keys, so do "hey" and "get". otherwise it's great!!!

I personally think qwerty is the only way to fly...I am extremely fast on it. I have tried to type several times on my wife's suretype keypad and I just have so much difficulty on it...I think the secret to that type of keyboard is to not look at the screen while you type and just trust that it will figure out what you intend to type.

If you don't have any real attachment to a qwerty, I hear that the suretype is pretty easy to learn. I know that it hasn't taken my wife that long and she can bang away on that thing now with the best of them!

I like my suretype. Seems the more I use it the better it gets and the easier it is. It does mix up are,,,,see and hey,,,get but by now my friends know what im talking about. Took me a few weeks but I like the size better than the blackberries with the full keyboard.

I used to think Full Qwerty was the only way to go, but now I find my self typing much faster on a Suretype.

Unsuretype is what I call it. bbSpell a must with it. I prefer the full Qwerty device size too.

Full keyboard all the way. Hated suretype so always used multi-tap. Why tap twice when you type once with full qwerty

I went from QWERTY (6710) to SureType (7100t) to QWERTY (8700g) to SureType (7105t; my 8700 was stolen Friday, so this is a loaner until my new 8700 comes in). I can honestly say that SureType takes more focus (you can't just touch-type - you have to look-and-peck, or simply type-and-look-and-correct). It does a great job with learning most commonly use spellings and adapting to your typing styles, though. I prefer the full QWERTY keypads, though. I thought it would take a bit to get re-adjusted to the 710x keypad, but it took all but zero seconds for me to start typing like a champion on it once again.

I love suretype, getting good at typing fast...
Just got to play with the 8703e and I think the key are too small.

I went from QWERTY (7230) to Sure Type (7100t) and I have had no problem switching from one to the other. SureType is a little slower, but I always had a problem with my QWERTY BB always capitalizing the first letter of any passwords i would try to enter, and screwing up my trying to log on to websites. At least my 7100 will default to multi tap when it encounters a password field.

I have not got my Pearl yet but I imagine itxxx8217;s like T9 on my SDA & other cell phones. I had a Motorola w/ at full key board & I prefer the T9 it. Itxxx8217;s not like you are able to use all your fingers to type.

QWERTY on the 8700g. I send alot of email and the suretype was too slow. If I sent less I think the smaller BB's that have suretype might be a better choice.
