Default Sent Items

Please Login to Remove!

After upgrading to BES 4.0, if you send a message from your desktop e-mail client, a sent message appears on the BB. You can disable this with the Desktop Manager via the Redirector settings under Folder Redirection and select Inbox only. However, you have to load the Desktop Manager to do this for users.

Can you set that option on the BES console for a user?
Thanks

You don't have to load the Desktop manger for users. You can do it from BES or from the device itself. Instruction on how to do this on the device were posted on this forum this morning. A quick search will probably find them for you.

On the BES, click on properties of the user and go to Redirection and in there you can select the folders to redirect to.

Set it on the handheld. Look under message options and you'll find it if the handhelds are 4.0 as well as the server. Next time please search. This message has been answered 3 times today alone, not to mention the numerous times in the past.

I did a search and found some that said to use the DM, not the solution I am looking for.
I don't see anything about folder redirection under the message options. We have a 4.0 BES and I am looking at a 4.0 7290. Any other ideas?

messages->option->email settings->folder redirection

If you handheld was provisioned correctly, it's there.

So that the solution is listed, here is the fix:

Go into your Messages, click the scroll wheel and go to Options. Go into Email Settings. Click the scroll wheel and go to Folder Redirection and you can select what folders you want made available on your handheld.

Sorry,

Doesn't work.

I have a 7290, on 4.0, running without a BES on T-Mobile UK - Folder redirection cannot be found where described.

Please search for sent items, as mentioned 3 or 4 times previously in this same thread.

This is the BES forum. All questions are related to those blackberries running on BES. Your problem is similar, but fixed in a different manner using the BDM.

Default Thanks but...

I had searched using "sent items" and bfrye.

There are 15 results, 6 are BES Admin leaving 9.

Of these 9:

1- "Hide Showing" refers the reader to other, prevvious answers

2- "Disappearing Calendar.." refers to BES

3- relates to 7100T

4- Relating to query from Newbie Qu, one line response that is unclear

5- "Message Icon.." refers to different issue

6- "Sent email sync.." refers to BES

7- "Question Sent Items" is the only one that seems to apply, it is the "for the umpteenth time..." answer. Unfortunately, as mentioned in my original posting, there is no 'Folder Redirection' option under email settings.

8- refers to 7100

9- Asexual study - somewhat off topic.

Soooo, I truly do appreciate the expertise you provide and I do try to do my homework before asking a question.

The only reason I posted in the BES Admin area was because it did seem to be the most related topic available on the Board.

As mentioned originally I am using a new 7290 on the T-Mobile UK network, with no BES.
Unlike many others here I WANT to display my Semt Items on by BB, regardless of where they originate. At present that doesn't happen.

Any suggestions...?

Unsure what that means...

At the moment the BWC shows all Sent Items, fair enough.

But Sent Items originating on Outlook don't show up on the BB, and Sent Items originating from the BB don't show up on Outlook.

Might wanna check the blackberry network forum, as they have more BWC/desktop related items in there, but without BES, I'm not sure if you can sync sent items in the manner you are talking about.

I'm a few months late, but found this link when I was trying to solve the problem of sent items appearing in a users inbox. Since I figured it out, I thought others might appreciate the answer.

The issue is not folder redirection. Instead it is the filter rules.

If the redirection filters are set to foward messages to a BB when none of the rules apply, the sent items are delivered to the BB. Selecting "Don't foward messages to handheld" in the "When none of the above rules apply" section solves the problem.

Default redirection problems

Hi,
I am new to supporting a BES server. Please forgive me asking a question that might have already been answered.

A new user was working fine until we implmented a mail redirection change. Now, every 24 hrs his blackberry stops receiving mail. When we check his profile on the BES, we find that redirection to specific folders is still enabled, but no folders are checked.

Should we delete and re-create the client? Restart BES? Shoot the user?

Thanks

Swarm,
We had the same problem with BES 4.0 and GroupWise, but we just re-created the client and re-activated at the device and everything worked out just fine. Might be different depending on your mail client though...just a thought.
