So does anyone think that the next 87?? will be released in November? Regardless of the grainy BW picture.
You should see CDMA 870X (8702 for Sprint, 8703 for Verizon, 870X for Cingular HSDPA) devices in that timeframe.

RIM's CEO said the new blackberries will include MP3, video, expandable memory, camera and GPS...very nice!!!

i'm gonna wait and see...8700 isn't good enough for me anymore...gotta make sure all the extra crap doesn't hinder the email or security first of all...then i'm buying one for sure...

for sure this thing looks cool...minus the camera, seems a bit too childish, and unprofessional, i know we cant have cameras at work either since we do a lot of confidential research for the EPA...so that would be a draw back, but i get my upgrade in November, lets hope Tmobile has this...
plus the Sure Type keyboard is ****ing awesome, especially with some add-ons you can find around...i had a sidekick, once, sadly, and i hated that keyboard...

Also they mentioned that some BB's may also have wifi on them, that is what will bring me back to the BB world.

dude wifi! I need that shit! Oh and seriously some of us would use a camera. I think they should make models with and without cameras. They need to expand!

i had a camera on my old phone, an tbh in the whole 12 month contract i used it about 15 or 20 times, and that was only ever for random things like taking a real close up picture of a paper clip and asking who can guess what it is 1st. lol.

Dont know why I looked. I have never been excited about a blackberry device because it feels like the devices themselves are about 2 years behind regular cell phone technology. Touch Screen, MP3, Phone, Custom Ring Tones, Camera. YAWN.

I laughed when RIM showed us the camera blackberry and the room went woo as if they just seen fire for the first time. Duh cameras had been on cell phones for years prior this wasnt anything to be excited about. Same excitement happened with the color screen.
Don't forget that the BB was primary use was for government related business...so the idea of having a camera inside a sensitive area is not a good idea...as more and more "civilians" begin to embrace the BB it is leading to more and more entertainment features like MP3s, cameras and video.

Camera? Who cares!?
Fuzzy pictures of people doing stupid things is not what I am looking for.
Expandable memory? Yes please!
Full qwerty on 7100 series? Yes Please!
MP3 & Video? Sounds like fun!

But, looks like we will find out around November!

add camera, add mp3 player, add that stuff and you get problems. keep it simple and geared toward reliability and business essentials is my view. I do like the idea of an SD though!

If this is true, then I'd expect Howard Stern (Sirius) to come out with his BoobBerry version soon after....

I want mp3 capabilitity. Especially mp3 streaming off the internet. That would be extremely useful, and the applications are endless.

Its not a matter of some people around here being just plain paranoid, although it MAY be a matter of some (other) people around here not paying much attention to what's been said. For the record, one more time - there are MANY government sites and more than a few corporate sites that will allow NO cell phones or PDAs on premises except BlackBerry's - whether they have cameras or removable memory not. Why? Because its not reasonable to expect security guards at the gates/doors to be familiar with each and every make and model of phone/PDA that someone is carrying to know whether or not they have a camera or memory slot, so its easier to just ban them ALL. BlackBerry's are allowed because they know that NO BlackBerry has a camera or removable memory.

So a new model BlackBerry WITH camera and/or removable memory will almost certainly result in ALL BlackBerry's being banned from at least some of these sites. Is that clear enough? Its not "just plain paranoid" or "lack of reason" of the posters here, its simple fact. And its not something that restricting the camera or memory via BES policy solves completely either. My BlackBerry is on ONLY BIS, I have no BES at all. I'm a consultant though, and have been to some of those restricted sites. My BIS-only BlackBerry is allowed onsite - again, because they KNOW it can't have a camera or memory slot - its a BlackBerry!
