Default Desktop Manager

Does the version of Desktop Manager have to be specific for a specific vendor? Can one use any version of DM with the 8800? Bottom line, can I go to RIM and download a version to use without going to my cell phone vendor?

Bottom line, download from RIM or carrier, your choice. DM is not specific to model blackberry.

EDIT: added word not above. Terrible omission!

Yes, but stick with 4.2 the newest version seems to have reported issues.

4.2 SP 2

But I'm seeing more and more people stating 4.3 is working for them.

Good catch on SP2 aiharkness (thank you!) 4.3 huh? Maybe it's time I give it a shot...I don't need any new headaches though!

Me, I trust the mod's and would stick with 4.2 SP2. But if the OP like to have the latest and does a search so he's informed, then maybe try 4.3 for grins.

I have never been able to get the Media Manager to work. I have removed and reinstalled (4.2 SP2) several times including last night. I deleted files in the Temp Folder and emptied the Recycle Bin. Checked to be sure there were no instances of Rim or Roxio Folders. Fortunately, it synchonizes with Outlook which is essential but frustrating that this software from Rim does not work.
